Private College Advising

Serving 10th - 12th Grade Students Since 2012

How will you actually help my teen?

Our goal is to bring peace of mind to your family in the application process.

We make the process as stress-free as possible, while simultaneously helping your student grow and develop the ability to think introspectively about her academic goals, needs, and desires.

We spend time researching and visiting colleges to bring our knowledge of schools to your family and assist your teen in their college search process.

We spend time getting to know and mentor your teen and we advocate for their best interest every step of the way.

We want to make advising accessible.

As a non-profit organization, we work hard to ensure we increase access for first-generation and low-income students. That’s why, for every college counseling package purchased, we’re able to gift our standard package to a student who qualifies for Free and Reduced Meal Service at no cost to that family.

We also offer 10% off all our packages to first-generation students and military families.

Students work closely with a small, experienced advising team — made up of former admissions deans, directors, officers, and professional college counselors — who take the time to truly get to know each student, with strategic oversight from our founder to ensure thoughtful, high-quality guidance throughout the process.
Discussion Between Students
Students in Library
On average, each college has 2–3 supplemental essays in addition to the Common Application essay. With our essay review process, students typically write an average of 3 drafts per essay, with detailed feedback and line edits provided by our advising and essay review team. We work with our students to strategically plan their content so that they work smarter, not harder, when working through all their college essays.

**We consider the following list of schools in our count of  Ivy League/Highly Selective schools because these schools tend to have a lot of supplemental essays and very low admissions rates. There are a lot of fantastic schools not on this list below because they have fewer supplemental essays that can be easily derived from other essays.  â€‹ â€‹

Ivy League

Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, Cornell, Columbia, Brown, University of Pennsylvania

Highly Selective

MIT, Stanford, CalTech, Georgetown, Duke, University of Chicago, University of Southern California, Johns Hopkins, Vanderbilt, Washington University St. Louis, Michigan, UC Berkeley, UNC Chapel Hill, Carnegie Mellon

“Sydney has worked with two of my children, focusing mostly on essay and interview preparation. She makes the most of every session by providing effective feedback, asking pertinent, focused questions, and providing targeted advice. She has a wealth of knowledge and has been instrumental in helping both me and my children successfully navigate the complexities of the application process. Most importantly, she focuses on the whole child, not just the college application. She has always taken the time to truly get to know my children and has encouraged and counseled them based on their unique and individual needs.”
